Wow isn't this a powerful time!
NewMoon in Scorpio portrays the essence of the Alchemical transformation referred to by the phrase Solve et Coagula. Even as we look in on the experiment, ingredients from the past are melting down and fluxing, while new elements are forming that will shape the future. This must be something like what the caterpillar goes through when it becomes a butterfly. All the categories that were being used to hold the past in place are mooted, and the resulting primordial goo is free to mutate freely into its future form. What a wild ride!
This NewMoon is accompanied by Saturn who stands like the prow of a ship, just a few degrees out ahead of the conjoined Lights. Meanwhile Mercury retrograde and the North Node occupy the same tiny sliver of space a mere few degrees behind. The whole complex is only six degrees wide, quite a concentrated lump to swallow. It clearly wants to be taken as a piece -- the group can't be pried apart and experienced individually. A suitable list of key-words we might want to ponder as we look at this conjunction would include:
This type of insight doesn't come without a cost. Part of what is burning away with those false impressions are cherished fantasies that we have been holding in our hearts, wishing and praying against all reason that they could somehow come to pass. As current developments force us to realize what must be left behind, the loss can seem insurmountable. But when we turn our attention towards the future, the sense of freedom and infinite potential cannot be denied. As always, the trick is to know where to focus our attention.
It's not just the NewMoon that is making itself felt here. All of the Water signs are busy processing a powerful influence at this poignant moment. Jupiter is currently crossing the 20th degree of Cancer. Neptune, meanwhile, is working through a retrograde period, appearing to backtrack across the early degrees of Pisces. This amounts to a symbolic Grand Trine in the water signs, throbbing all around us in the astral plane. Let me just empathize with all my readers who can feel these watery activations pulsing away in their psyches, both internally and externally, stimulated by completely overwhelming current transits. It's a credit to our maturity when we can endure and contain this level of psycho-spiritual compression and not just melt down helplessly! Each of us deserves a gold star for those daily acts of forbearance, fortitude and flexibility we can muster in the face of this relentless astral pressure.
Meanwhile, let's all burn a candle to Pluto, Uranus and Mars (who just happen to have my Sun and Venus perfectly enmeshed in their mathematical sights). Impossible contradictions are pouring through Mars as he holds the asymmetrical peak of the 3/4/5 Triangle that mediates the stressful square between those two Outer Planets. We can only assume that the manifestations "here below" will reflect the flavor of this astral conversation. We have already seen a miracle recently when, no matter how hard the talking heads ramped up the call for an international war with Syria, it failed to materialize. Maybe Mars' tenure in Virgo will continue to soberly and practically put the kibosh on the extravagant, wasteful, odious and mean-spirited chess game that our overlords want to play, taking our bodies and finances hostage to their kabuki-like games of international relations.
Among economic astrologers, Pluto is thought to symbolize the intertwined industrial, military and financial complex, including the captured political culture that we see played out in the mass media every hour of the day and night. Contrastingly, Uranus represents the forces of novelty and high individualism, including sudden eruptions of unpremeditated creativity that shatter our preconceived notions and usher in new eras of expansion in the arts and sciences. I think of Uranus as the Eureka force, which pulls back the veil hiding a radical new interpretation of reality, thus upending our limits in the blink of an eye. To my mind, Uranus holds the key to the future version of paradise, but that is probably because my individual nature is so eccentric as to verge upon the autistic. From where I stand, the sovereign individual possesses an advantage that no borg-like hive mentality can overcome, and that is unpredictability. Nobody, not even God, can preconceive what you or I are going to feel, say, do or believe next! Uranus, which is keyed to the astral element Air on the Magus, Trump #1 of the Tarot of the Holy LIght, represents the power inherent in each of us to take each moment newly, seeing through fresh eyes and encountering alternate worlds of experience before us as a result. The faster we can come out of trance as individuals, the faster the inhibiting fabric of imposed false beliefs begins to tear away, freeing our energies to seek out truly new expression.
But as we all know, those institutionalized forces represented by Pluto in Capricorn hate to be flouted! With Saturn's help (as the natural ruler of the earth sign Capricorn), Pluto will do his darnedest to extract what he considers to be his due. Pluto wants us to believe that our only choice is to sacrifice a virgin to the volcano -- our overlords must be placated, it won't be possible to skip that step! But I would counter that we have nothing to lose by engaging our highest Uranus-in-Aries imagination to tap whatever innovative and forward-looking thinking we can muster when responding to the demands of the powers-in-place. Even in the areas of our life where we are under Pluto's sub-atomic microscope, where the force of external pressure and pre-programmed reflex are at peak power, we need to keep our imaginations active to make sure we don't miss any details we can turn to our advantage. Don't allow reflexive thinking to dominate your view of the world! Remember, you can never put your foot in the same river twice -- both the person and the river are undergoing constant change. It's time to leave the past in its undisturbed splendor, and think things over again without the cliches of "how it used to be". The very same raw ingredients can be reassigned to make a new recipe, starting any time you can believe it.
And if we have trouble recognizing this, let's make a note of the fact that on November 13th through the 15th, Venus is going to be crossing over Pluto in Capricorn. At that time we are going to get a rare glimpse into the positive, sympathetic, attractive and inherently good qualities that belong to Pluto, no matter how fierce and implacable he might seem every other day of the year. This is a great opportunity for all of us to look with the eyes of sympathy and compassion on those who, wittingly or unwittingly, have gotten caught up in the institutions of mankind's current power addiction. When Venus crosses over Pluto, we will be able to direct our forgiveness and goodwill towards any person who is struggling with their participation in the Borg. I personally intend to pray for the strengthening of the whisleblowers, those valiant individuals who risk their personal well-being to inform humanity of what we are missing. We depend upon those intrepid souls to hold up the cleansing light of consciousness and flood the culture's dark corners with disinfectant healing fire.
I don't mean to scapegoat Pluto as a symbol of our highest technological achievements, but until this aspect of humanity outgrows their control urges and stops enslaving Nature to its exploitive and wasteful domination, then I will be rooting for a million Uranus-inspired souls to have their Eureka moments and turn away from the ersatz reality being peddled to us from every corner of the mainstream media. ( And don't get me started on Fukushima! I howl at the Moon at the very thought!)
Along these lines I would like to recommend an article about, and a video of, the excellent and fascinating Karen Hudes. http://21stcenturywire.com/2013/10/03/whistleblower-karen-hudes-how-the-global-elite-rule-the-world/ This is a person who is passionately dedicated to using her professional training to call the world's biggest power institutions to account. This is a portrait in courage that not many of us get a chance to partake in. I wouldn't have believed that a single person could make such a dent in the "powers that be", but Karen's past accomplishments, as well as her current clarion call from the higher ground, inspire me with a great deal of hope for the future. At the link you'll find the interview with Hudes that first whetted my interest, but bear in mind that she's appearing on a lot of interview shows lately to get her message out, so there are plenty of youtube offerings that come up when you search her name.
It blows my mind to be so spellbound by an international lawyer and economist, but she has a way of describing the upcoming revolution as a "Restoration of the Rule of Law" that makes my Saturn-conjunct-Sun-in-Libra heart go pitty-pat! The more I listen the more I realize that an altruistic heart, when tied to a practical and steady mind, can have disproportionate power to upend the Machiavellian schemes of that 0.01% who think they rule the world. Her sweet smile and practiced optimism make it clear that relentlessness is not a quality found only among the enemies of humanity. Hudes is relentless for economic reform, for example, and she's learned how to use her lawyer's mind to compel it, or barring that, to expose the legal legerdemain that holds the system back from being self-correcting. Let's all expose ourselves to the charismatic example of this determined grandmother, who has found herself empowered to call the abusers out on their nefarious schemes.
If not here, where? If not now, when?
