IN THIS ISSUE:

I.   Brother, can you spare an hour? Float the Ark ... I was tickled to find this article recently, remarking upon the awakening urge to "build an Ark" in response to these powerful, pivotal times. That is precisely the impulse that took hold of us as well when, over fifty Moons ago, my webscribe Cynthia Beal and I launched this little craft into the virtual waters. I, for one, had no idea what would come of it, but time has filled in the blanks. And how quickly time passes! It has been quite fulfilling and pleasurable to pulse with this project, and I hope to continue doing so into the foreseeable future....

II.   World Servers' Spread, May, 2009..."No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man. " This is a very old saying from Heraclites, and it's just as true today. The phrase you can't go home again implies the same insight. Of course, to align our metaphor with the FullMoon in Gemini, the element invoked should be air rather than water or earth.  Therefore, let's put it this way:  In the time it takes to leap aloft and touch down again, the globe has rotated under your feet.  Take nothing for granted, respond to each event freshly, and cherish the miracle of the moment. ...

Alongside the monthly rebirth of the Moon, we also see the outworking of the Venus/Mars conjunction and a tremendously close contact of Jupiter and Neptune.  In this chart, at several levels, two become one!....

Dear friends...

I was tickled to find this article recently, remarking upon the awakening urge to "build an Ark" in response to these powerful, pivotal times.

That is precisely the impulse that took hold of us as well when, over fifty Moons ago, my webscribe Cynthia Beal and I launched this little craft into the virtual waters. I, for one, had no idea what would come of it, but time has filled in the blanks. And how quickly time passes! It has been quite fulfilling and pleasurable to pulse with this project, and I hope to continue doing so into the foreseeable future.

Cyn and I spend about 40 hours every month between us, putting each ArkLetter together. There's a lot of love in that labor, you can be sure! Both of us have found that committing to these ArkLetters has enhanced our communion with nature's cycles and given greater structure to our psychic lives. By following the NewMoon making reports on the ongoing changes in the astral milieu, we share in one of the oldest activities of human culture -- divining the will of the Heavens.

Of course, to align our metaphor with the FullMoon in Gemini, the element invoked should be air rather than water or earth.  Therefore, let's put it this way:  In the time it takes to leap aloft and touch down again, the globe has rotated under your feet.  Take nothing for granted, respond to each event freshly, and cherish the miracle of the moment.

With these ideas in mind, and considering the veritable riot of meltdown and breakthrough that is going on around and within us all, I am shuffling to request guidance towards self-transformation. There must be some principles we can strive towards that will help us decode the imponderables unfolding under our gaze. Every person's circumstance is different, but if there is any truth to the idea of the biosphere and globe of Earth being a single living being, then it might be helpful for us (a tenacious mite on the hide of Gaia) to know what She might need from humanity right now.

NewMoon in Gemini

How perfect for a NewMoon, to be marked by such powerful conjunctions. Alongside the monthly rebirth of the Moon, we also see the outworking of the Venus/Mars conjunction and a tremendously close contact of Jupiter and Neptune.  In this chart, at several levels, two become one!

The primary conjunction, of course, is the NewMoon in Gemini.  If you live as I do in a rural area, the fields are full of new babies of every description, from goslings on our riverbank to the momma cows standing guard over their youngsters frolicking in the pasture. The mad blooming of deep spring is underway, and the grass is growing so fast you can practically see it getting taller by the hour.

It is almost impossible to be depressed at this time of year (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), because our very cells are thrilled to be participating in this great upwelling of life force.  The twinning factor that Gemini refers to is just as much about multiplying the green biomass after winter as it is about any kind of psychological two-facedness in the human sphere.  In general, the multiplication of potentials, both for opportunity and for danger, is classically Gemini. The turn of phrase "on the one hand...  but on the other" is a perfect Gemini approach. For every new path that is opened, a new pitfall opens as well.  In Gemini, one can almost guarantee it; everything that can happen, will happen!
