As we've just been launched into the new cycle of increasing Light (in the northern hemisphere anyway), let's start by acknowledging the partial solar eclipse happening overhead. This takes place in the mineral light of Capricorn, which shines forth from the underground caverns of the deep Earth. New Moon Notes and 2011 Retrogrades, January, 2011

New Moon and Yearly Retrograde Notes
January 4th, 2011

As we've just been launched into the new cycle of increasing Light (in the northern hemisphere anyway), let's start by acknowledging the partial solar eclipse happening overhead. This takes place in the mineral light of Capricorn, which shines forth from the underground caverns of the deep Earth. Down in the mines of the underworld lie the bones of earth's ancestors and the primordial elements that will be used to create the future.  In Capricorn we tunnel down and liberate the dormant resources that have waited all this time for our coming.  The seeds of the future will be mined from the past.

Eclipses put a special spin on the energy depending upon whether they are Solar or Lunar.  A wise friend who visited recently gave me her capsule formula for interpreting eclipses, and I liked it so much that I'll pass it on here: Eclipses of the Sun (which happen at NewMoon) represent the traditional "eclipse of Reason", causing our normal mental and emotional clarity to be occulted or obscured.

On the other hand, an eclipse of the Moon (which happens at FullMoon) represents an occultation or obscuration of the illusions cast by the bullshit culture (her words!), inviting us to throw off those hypnotic shackles and become awake.  By this analysis, during last FullMoon we tossed aside a critical quotient of our burdensome illusions.  Now we find ourselves looking within and navigating by the internal Light we have accumulated through past experience.  (This might help explain why the cards in our Tarotlogy spread were so focused at the 'gut' level this month, too.)

Regarding the 2011 Retrogrades:

We continue to see all the Outer Planets concentrated in the winter signs. I'll start with these, as they are so massively influential at the collective level.
