I. Divinatory Tarot.... In the presence of the new translation of Papus' Divinatory Tarot from Aeon Books (2008), I am in bliss. Finally! It seems I have been waiting for this to be translated from my early years as a Tarot reader. It is a gift to us all and I'm extremely grateful to Aeon Books for bringing it forward after all these years ....

II. World Servers' Spread, March 2008... After all this immersion in the Papus book, I had no choice to pick up his deck and give it a shuffle. As I was working with the cards, I was thinking about the "astral conditions" of this period between the Eclipse of two weeks ago and this NewMoon. A chant started to form in my mind with the rhythm of the shuffle, helping me to locate this reading in astrological time -- After that beautiful eclipse... <riff>... after Mercury ceases his retrograde... <riff>... during the Mars/Pluto opposition...<riff>... during the Saturn/Pluto trine... <riff>... ...

III. New Moon Notes - March 7, 2008 ... It has been quite a powerful period between last NewMoon and this one, including that stunner of an eclipse at FullMoon February 20. I'm sure that most of us have been feeling that special thrill that comes when the days grow appreciably longer, even though those new afternoons are still filled with drizzle and grey skies. We northern-hemisphere folks can't help but feel the steady up tick of the temperature too, as inexorable as the returning light. The old year is leaving us! Are we really ready to let it go? ....
